A Computer Operator is responsible for overseeing and managing computer systems, ensuring smooth operation, and performing routine maintenance tasks. They monitor system performance, run batch jobs, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and ensure data integrity and security. Key Responsibilities: Monitor and control computer systems and related equipment to ensure efficient operations. Perform regular system checks, backups, and data archiving. Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, escalating complex problems when necessary. Operate batch processing jobs and ensure timely execution of scheduled tasks. Maintain system logs and document operational procedures. Assist with the installation and configuration of new software and hardware. Ensure data security and integrity through proper handling and protection procedures. Provide technical support to end-users and respond to inquiries. Perform routine maintenance, including updates and patches. Skills and Qualifications: Proficiency in computer operations, system monitoring tools, and software applications. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.) and networking basics. Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in computer science or related field is a plus. Prior experience in a computer operator or similar role is preferred.
