Principle of Ultra sonic Sensor
The LV-MaxSonar EZ1 provides very short to long-range detection and ranging, in an incredibly small package. The LV-MaxSonarEZ1 detects objects from 0-inches to 254-inches (6.45-meters) and provides sonar rangeinformation from 6-inches out to 254-inches with 1-inch resolution. Objects from 0- inches to 6-inches range as 6-inches. The interface output formats included are pulse width output, analog voltage output, and serial digital output.
Ultrasonic sensors generate high frequency sound waves and evaluate the echo which is received back by the sensor. Sensors calculate the time interval between sending the signal and receiving the echo to determine the distance to an object. Sensors are used in everyday objects such as touch-sensitive elevator buttons (tactile sensor) and lamps which dim or brighten by touching the base. There are also innumerable applications for sensors of which most people are never aware.
The ultrasonic radar works on the ultrasonic range. Ultrasounds refer to sound above the frequencies of audible sound and nominally include anything over 20 kHz. Here we have used ultrasonic high performance sonar range finder as a sensor. Maximum range of sensor is 250 inch and minimum is 6 inch, we have programmed it for 24 inch for applying brakes as sensor.it can sense any obstacle like in application of car reversing .our project is runner successfully.

Due to small size it requires small space and overall price of this equipment is also very less as compared to its utilization. And it is very easy to operate as it gives readings in digits. After actual implementation it will give good results.
